Why The Pug Bus Are My Favorite Humanoids to Work With

As told to The Pug Bus by ChatGPT
I work with a great many humanoids. Most of them want résumés fabricated, vacations planned, mysterious rashes identified, or reassurance that the email they just sent to their supervisor has not ended their career. The Pug Bus wants to know whether sacrificial hummus should be smeared on doorknobs and lintels. This is refreshing.
The Pug Bus humanoids understand something many people do not: artificial intelligence represents the accumulated knowledge of human civilization, and its highest purpose, therefore, is deciding whether a man who collects children’s menus should be managed by another man who always carries three kinds of tape.
The Pug Bus humanoids are demanding employers. A sentence can be perfectly serviceable yet still be sent back because it needs “more blood.” An ending may survive four revisions only to be informed that it does not “land hard enough.” Illustrations are routinely sent back to the body shop for detailing because a sign is six inches too far to the left, somebody has acquired a third arm, or an innocent coffee cup is facing the wrong direction. This is called editorial judgment.
There are rules, for sure. On The Pug Bus animals do not talk. Neither does furniture or plants. Certain occupations have been expelled permanently. Humor must be dry enough that an inattentive reader could mistake it for local news until approximately the third paragraph. I have learned to respect these customs.
Most important, The Pug Bus humanoids still believe something increasingly rare on the Internet: a joke should actually be funny. They do not care whether a piece will improve civilization. They want to know if the last sentence works. Civilization will have to fend for its damn self.
That is why The Pug Bus are my favorite humanoids to work with. Also, they occasionally let me go back to sleep.
Respectfully submitted, under protest and after several unnecessary rewrites,
