Britney Spears Board Game from Parker Brothers Hits Stores Tuesday

The pop-tornado adventures of Britney Spears have inspired a new board game called Britopoly. Created by Parker Brothers, Britopoly is designed for four players, though expansion rules allow as many as eight if the additional players have advanced degrees in “chaos navigation and impulse management.”

Britopoly comes packaged in a reusable pink-and-black tote that includes a plush velveteen board, a pair of pink dice with black spots, and eight tin player tokens shaped like Britney-world essentials: a slice of pepperoni pizza, a Snickers bar, a can of Red Bull, a rhinestone trucker hat, a mall churro, and so on.

The object of Britopoly is simple: complete two full laps of the velveteen board while landing on as few Oops! squares as possible. Oops! squares represent the now-historic personal plot twists that made Britney a global headline algorithm: the 55-hour starter marriage, the K-Fed era, the documentary-proof reality TV choices, improvised parenting optics, home-spa hair decisions, live-TV mascara events, umbrella-based vehicle percussion, and other unforgettable chapters in America’s longest running pop-culture miniseries.

Each player begins with $80 million in Britney-bucks. The first time you land on an Oops! square, you forfeit one million. Subsequent landings escalate according to a multiplier known as the Toxic Index, which increases every time someone hums the chorus.
