Jessica Simpson Thought Prenuptial Agreement Would Lead to Sex

HOLLYWOOD – Jessica Simpson did not sign a prenuptial agreement before marrying Nick Lachey because she was determined to remain a virgin until her wedding night.

According to Access Hollywood, Lachey reportedly had a prenuptial agreement drawn up by his attorney before he and Simpson were married in 2002. At the time Lachey was the more popular of the celebrity couple. Simpson allegedly refused to sign the document because she did not believe in “prenuptial sex.”

“Jess comes from a very religious background,” said her personal assistant and hometown friend CaCee Cobb. “She signed a virginity pledge while she was in high school, and she thought the prenuptial agreement was an attempt by Nick to skirt that pledge.”

Asked if Simpson had confused prenuptial with premarital, Cobb replied, “Precise definitions aren’t Jess’ strong suit. She’s a more intuitive person, and all she knew was that both words begin with the same suffix.”

Simpson’s vocabulary gap could end up being costly. Moneyline‘s Lew Dobbs reported last night that Simpson had earned $35 million in 2004 while Lachey had a negative income after deductions. Under California law Lachey is entitled to half of whatever the couple made while they were married. Never-
theless, said Cobb, Simpson didn’t appear to be troubled over the potential loss of millions.

“Money’s immaterial to Jess. All she wanted to know was whether Ashlee would still legally be her sister after the divorce.”
