The murder of Charlie Kirk is a Rorschach test for human decency. Within minutes of Charlie’s demise, the usual scab -picking, drooling dunce caps crawled out of the algorithmic woodwork to post their delight. They thought they were spiking the football. Instead, some of them spiked their jobs.
The Usual Dunce Cap of the Moment Suspects
MSNBC’s Matthew Dowd, 64, longtime political strategist and media analyst who served as chief strategist for the 2004 Bush–Cheney campaign, went on live TV and implied that Kirk had it coming, claiming his “hateful rhetoric” invited the violence that killed him. MSNBC promptly handed him his dunce cap and an escort to the door.
Gerald Bourguet, the lead Phoenix Suns writer for PHNX Sports, covering the Phoenix Suns and co-hosting the PHNX Suns Podcast. This dunce cap took to X to remind the world that “refusing to mourn a life devoted to that cause is not the same thing as celebrating gun violence.” Turns out, his bosses at PHNX Sports saw no meaningful distinction. They cut him loose.
Charlie Rock, worked in the communications department for the NFL’s Carolina Panthers, where he started as a PR intern in 2024. This dunce cap also could not resist posting hateful and cowardly venom. He no longer works for the team.
The DC Comics’ writer for Red Hood thought it was a good day to celebrate Kirk’s death, after all it was a day ending in “y.” DC canceled the series and dropped her faster than you can say “plot twist.”
Even academia got in on the fun. A staffer at Middle Tennessee State University was fired for online glee, and a grad student was punished. You can always count on universities to preach tolerance–until the donations are at risk.
Special Bonus Charlie Kirk’s Moment
Some of the most vile, hateful responses to Charlie Kirk’s murder have come from the transgender activist wing of the political left.A transgender BMX cyclist, who’s been part of Team USA, posted several times on social media openly cheering Kirk’s death. That cyclist, Chelsea Wolfe, was part of the U.S. women’s BMX team as an alternate for the 2021 Tokyo Olympics despite being biologically male.
